Cup Match Bermuda: A national holiday in Bermuda every year, when West end Somerset Cricket Club and East end St. Georges Cricket Club, play in a heated cricket match for two days. The national event always takes place the Thursday and Friday before the first Monday in August. Cup Match dates back to 1901, and today it involves most locals taking two days off to watch the match, picnic on the island, and party! Take note, most stores are either closed or close early during this holiday.
'Harbour Nights' in Hamilton - Bermuda Chamber of Commerce Harbour Nights: Every Wednesday throughout the summer from 7-10 PM, head down to Front Street in the city of Hamilton for the dynamic street festival. Dress Code: Proper attire is required at all clubs. Shirts must have collars and sleeves. Shorts must be Bermuda-length. Jeans, gym shorts and cut-offs are not acceptable.
Club Rentals: Ladies' and Men's right and left handed full club sets are available at all listed courses.
Credit Card Policies: Credit cards are accepted for greens fees only. Mastercard and Visa are accepted at all listed courses. American Express is accepted at most. Of course, please confirm credit card policies when arranging tee times.
Gas Cart Policies: Use of gas carts is mandatory at Belmont, Castle Harbour and Southampton Princess. On weekends and public holidays only, gas carts are also mandatory at Ocean View, Port Royal and St. Georges.

Taxis in Bermuda: All taxis in Bermuda are metered. For a 4-passenger taxi, the meter reading starts at $5.15. For a 7-passenger taxi, the meter starts at $6.45. This is the initial fare. The meter changes every 1/5 of a mile. Fare for each mile of travel is $2.75 for a 4-passenger taxi and $3.50 for a 7-passenger taxi. A 15% tip on the total fare is the usual norm. These rates apply Monday through Saturday between 6am and midnight, rates are higher on Sundays and Public Holidays. Luggage in the boot costs an extra $1 per item.
